Fun Day Committee Planning

A Fun Day for the Nifty Niners is a once-a-month golf day organized around a theme and a golf format of your committee’s choosing. Participation is at its peak on Fun Days and the top teams are awarded winnings in their Cliffs Pro Shop Credit Book account.  Each player will be charged $5 to participate, which becomes the fund for distribution of the winnings. (Example: 36 players x $5 = $180 to distribute as credit book to the top teams). Kyle will determine how the money is distributed.

1. A budget of up to $100 has been designated for your use for table décor, cart “surprises” and/or gifts for individual scores or contest winners during the round. Have a Plan B if there is a tie! These gifts are in addition to the Pro Shop Credit Book winnings the top 2-3 teams will receive.   Please keep a running tally of how you spend your money.  Receipts are nice, but not necessary. A member of your committee will communicate with the Niners Treasurer to receive the reimbursement for your expenses (up to $100). You will distribute the money to the team member(s) who made each purchase for the event. If you purchase re-usable items with your budget, please place them the Ladies Lounge Nifty Niners locker for future use. 

2. Create a theme for your day! This can be as creative or as simple as you want.  Your theme can relate to the month you are hosting, a nearby holiday, colors, music genres, movies, a golf format, fun slogan, etc. Don’t forget the golf cart can play music as you approach a hole, ask a trivia question and more.  

3. If your theme was not inspired by a golf format, now it the time to choose one. This can be either a postable or non-postable format. There are lots of choices that can be found in the Golf Education/Golf Formats page on the Niners website. Kyle can also help with this! Postable formats can be fun and your personal scores will count towards Ringers.

4. You will make the day special with table décor that fits your theme. In the Ladies Locker room lockers 1 and 2 have a variety of décor from past Fun Days you are welcome to use. If you purchase re-usable items with your budget, please place them in a locker for future use.  Minimal on-course decorating is preferred.

5. Time to make your selection for lunch.  A team member needs to plan to meet or email with Chef Shawn a minimum of 2-3 weeks before your Fun Day. A buffet or 2 entree choices is the standard choice. Lunch is a member charge. Table arranging is your preference, but it is much easier to decorate long tables than 6-8 round ones.

6. Create an informational “flyer” for Kyle to email to the Niners to promote your Fun Day.  Kyle and Bella can help you with the flyer! Just send them the details of your day and they can make it using CANVA.

A Fun Day is about fun, do not stress over it. No matter what, the ladies will enjoy a round of golf, a nice lunch and having a chance to win some money!  Have Fun!
