Individual golf scores ARE eligible for posting
TEES Day
Each player will count their net score with T, E, E, and S. If playing 9 holes, TEES scores you will count will be on holes Two, Three, Six, Seven, and Eight. If playing Holes 10-18, TEES scores you will count will be on holes Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Sixteen, Seventeen, and Eighteen. Pairings will be by “like handicap”.
Evens and Odds
Teams will compete in a modified best ball format. On the odd holes, the team will count 1 best ball. On the even holes, teams will count the 2 best balls.
One and Only One
Teams will be paired by like-handicaps. Teams will count one NET best ball of the group. We will play this format in 2 person teams.
My Fairway Lady
Players are awarded 1 point each time their DRIVE finishes IN the fairway. Drive must be IN the fairway, not close to the fairway. Fairway Totals will be listed on the “team scorecard” and the team with the highest number of fairway shots wins.
Three Blind Mice
Two Net Balls of the foursome are counted for each hole, and at the end of the round you throw out your Team’s three worst scores. (Because Blind Mice can’t play golf!)
Secret Holes
Threesome/Foursomes will play their own ball for 9 Holes. At the conclusion of play, 4 secret holes will be deducted from each individual score to find the team NET best ball total for the remaining 5 holes.
Blind Partners
Each player plays their own ball and records their GROSS score into Golf Genius. At the completion of the round, Golf Genius will adjust your individual score into a NET score using your course handicap (dots). Golf Genius will then assign each player a “blind partner” creating a 2-person team. The team score is the better NET ball of the two partners on each hole. The winning team is the pair with the lowest NET score.
FLAG Tournament
Each player is given a small flag with their name attached to the flagstick. Using her nine-hole handicap, she plays until she has used the number of strokes equaling PAR plus her handicap and then plants her flag where her ball landed. (For Nine Hole event - if PAR on the nine holes is 36 and her handicap for nine holes is 20, she plants their flag where the 56th stroke landed. The winner is the player who brings their flag back to the pro shop or plants their flag farthest around the course. If several players return their flag, the player with the lowest NET score is the winner. (No American flags should be used for this, Halloween-Ghost, Easter-Bunny, Spring-Flower, etc.)
Joker’s WILD Best Ball
Each player is assigned a suit to play (hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades) before teeing off. Each hole pin will have a card pinned to the flag with a card corresponding to one of the suits assigned to a player. The player whose suit matches the one on the flag is the “Joker.” The team score will be the lowest NET Best Ball of all players, plus the Joker’s Ball NET score. If the Joker’s ball is the low score for the hole, that score is counted twice.
3’s, 4’s, 5’s
Three best balls are counted on par 3’s, two best balls on par 4’s, and one best ball on par 5’s.
Chips Ahoy
Each member of a 3-person team is given a different colored poker chip (Red, Blue, White, or three of whatever poker chip colors you have). Before the tournament, the committee members will drive around the course, randomly placing ONE of the three colored poker chips in each hole. All players must finish playing the hole. The team uses the NET score of the player holding the same-colored chip as the one in the hole.
COD – Carts, Opposites, and Drivers
The nine-hole event is separated into 3-hole matches (Holes 1-3, Holes 4-6, Holes 7-9). The lowest net score wins the match. The first 3 holes, the players sharing a Cart are partners. The middle 3 holes, the Opposites are partners, (a driver from one cart & a passenger from the other) and in the last 3 holes, the Drivers from each cart are partners. and the Passengers are partners. This is a fun format with a little competition, but just within the group. (You do not switch carts to play this format).
One Best Ball and One Best Putt
Foursomes will compete over 9 holes. A PUTT equals using your putter while ON the green (not the fringe). Play your ball through the hole, counting every stroke. Each player will keep their own score, and there will be a scorecard for the game. You will count One BEST NET ball and One Best Putt of the foursome (the two scores may not be from the same player) on each hole. Place the Best Ball NET score and the Best Putt in the indicated place on the scorecard. Total them together for the team score.
T’s and F’s
Teams will count 1 best ball on holes that begin with a T or an F. If playing 1-9 holes, the scores will be from holes: Two, Three, Four, & Five. If playing Holes 10-18, the scores will be from holes: Ten, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen and Fifteen.
Mock Stableford
Players will be paired together into teams (threesome or foursome). Everyone will play their own ball for the entire
nine holes. The team’s Stableford Points (see below) of the 2 Best Balls will count as the team’s final score.
The Stableford points scale is below (based on NET score):
Eagle or Better = 6 points, Birdie = 4 points
Par = 2 points Bogey = 1 point
Double Bogey or higher = 0 points
