LOCAL RULE: “2 by 2” RULE
If a player’s ball comes to rest near the green and sprinkler heads or another object near the green interferes with their shot, two things must be present to relieve the situation:
Sprinkler heads or objects near the putting green need to be within 2 club lengths from the green.
Your ball must also be within 2 club lengths from the sprinkler head or object near the putting green.
The player may use the longest club in their bag for measuring purposes. The player is then allowed free relief with no penalty and can drop their ball no closer to the hole, so the sprinklers
(or other objects near the green) are no longer in play for their shot.
LOCAL RULE: MULCH AREAS
If a player's ball rests against the collar of an area covered with mulch, the player can take relief one club length no nearer to the hole without penalty. The ball must remain in the mulch (same conditions).
NINERS’ RULE: OUT of BOUNDS/LOST BALL
If a Niner player hits a shot out of bounds or has a lost ball, to keep the pace of play moving faster, we will play it as a lateral hazard and drop a ball for a 1 stroke penalty rather than stroke and distance.
NINERS’ RULE – DROP ZONE is the 5 TEE
On holes 5, 6, and 10 if you are playing the 4 Tees and do not make it over the ravine, move to the 5 tees for a one stroke penalty. (Stroke 1-hit into the ravine, Stroke 2- penalty,
Stroke 3 is your shot from the 5 tees.)
